ICERD support the Department of Education and Training Hanoi, Vietnam to facilitate a study visit to models of pesticide risk reduction and sustainable conservation and use of agrobiodiversity in Quynh Son and Xuan Phu – Yen Dung – Bac Giang for 200 CLC staff of Hanoi. 06 Apr and 27 Apr, 2018.

ICERD support the Department of Education and Training Hanoi, Vietnam to facilitate a study visit to models of pesticide risk reduction and sustainable conservation and use of agrobiodiversity in Quynh Son and Xuan Phu – Yen Dung – Bac Giang for 200 CLC staff of Hanoi. 06 Apr and 27 Apr, 2018.

Participants were 200 people who are Education and Training Offices, leaders and staffs of 88 Community Learning Centre (CLC) of 4 districts (Me Linh, Soc Son, Dong Anh, Hoai Duc).

The first is the Leaders of the Communal authorities to introduce an overview of the achievements and experiences of the implementation of the pesticide impact assessment (PIA) and sustainable conservation and use of agrobiodiversity, that has been supported by ICERD through the program “Rural Ecological Agriculture for Livelihood (REAL) program” since 2014.

The participants then had the opportunity to directly observe and learn from the farmer groups about initiatives and experience they have done, about challenges and solutions to overcome. At the same time, participants shared their experiences that Hanoi’s CLCs have successfully implemented. The fields to visit including:

> Farms of Integrated Rice-Fish cultivation

> Apply Bio-mats in levestock raising

> The filelds “pesticide risk reduction, promotion of Integrated Rice-Fish cultivation”

> Home garden (chemical free)

> Management of pesticide containers after use

> Woman Club
